About The Position

This is a student employment opportunity at Ridge Hill School, part of the America Reads program. The role involves tutoring children in grades K-5 in reading and other academic areas. Tutors will work with students individually or in small groups, providing extra or specialized attention as needed. They will also support teachers in leading lessons and activities, and may occasionally handle administrative or creative tasks. Required training in tutoring techniques will be provided.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Applicants must be self-motivated, willing to take initiative, show interest in their work.
• Punctuality and responsibility are musts to work effectively in this position
• Must have at least 4 hours per week available within the school's operating hours (M-F 8:30-3:30).

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with K-6 grade students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tutor children, grades K-5, in reading skills and other academic areas.
• Work with children one-on-one or in small groups.

• Occasionally complete administrative or creative tasks.
