Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, GI/endoscopy, or PACU setting required.
  • Demonstrated competency in all nursing functions within the Pre-Procedure, Procedure, and Recovery areas.

Nice To Haves

  • SGNA certification preferred.
  • Previous experience with AAAHC accreditation and ambulatory surgery center regulatory standards preferred.
  • Previous Clinical Lead, Charge Nurse, or Preceptor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day clinical leadership for the Ambulatory Surgery Center, serving as the primary resource for nursing staff, physicians, and clinical teammates.
  • Coordinates daily staffing assignments, patient scheduling, workflow, and patient throughput to ensure safe, efficient, and timely care.
  • Utilizes professional nursing judgment to assess clinical priorities, resolve operational challenges, and ensure continuity of care throughout the Pre-Procedure, Procedure, and Recovery areas.
  • Ensures clinical supplies, equipment, instrumentation, and procedural resources are available, properly maintained, and ready for patient care.
  • Assists the Nurse Manager in maintaining compliance with AAAHC accreditation standards, state licensing requirements, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.
  • Coordinates orientation, competency validation, annual education, and ongoing clinical development for nursing staff in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
  • Serves as a clinical mentor and role model by promoting teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory readiness activities, patient safety efforts, and performance improvement projects.
  • Maintains effective communication with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
  • Performs direct patient care as needed while maintaining competency in all clinical nursing functions within the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
