About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining facility CS, surgical SPD, and endoscopy SPD goals under the direction of the CS Coordinator and ASC Administrator. The specialist will provide supplies to necessary areas, process instruments for internal and external use, and serve as a backup to the CS Coordinator. A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with all Freeman, state, and federal standards in CS and SPD areas.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computer functions and systems.
• Working knowledge of inventory management.
• Basic knowledge of sterile processing (surgical and endoscopy) and central supply.
• At least 1 year of experience in central supply and sterile processing.
• Clean driving record.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assess instrument integrity, clean, sterilize, and report repairs or items needing replacement as a sterile processing technician.
• Prepare, assemble, and deliver sterile instruments to perioperative services for surgical procedures.
• Maintain proper inventory management, ensure adequate stocking, perform correct inventory transactions, and conduct daily cycle counts.
• Review purchase orders to prevent overstocking and waste.
• Coordinate timely replacement of consignment products and accurate implementation of new products into inventories.
• Maintain appropriate levels of supplies in outlying departments.
• Rotate supplies and linens to decrease expirations and improve cleanliness.
• Order stock and non-stock supplies, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Monitor equipment electrical cords, outlets, lighting, and other environmental items for damage or defects, arranging for repair or replacement.
• Monitor floors, walls, and other areas, ensuring timely reporting and repair of issues.
• Serve as a backup to the CS Coordinator with similar job duties.
