About The Position

This role involves partnering closely with GI providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered ambulatory care. The nurse will support patients throughout their care continuum, from new consults to follow-up and procedure planning. Key responsibilities include GI symptom assessment, telephone triage, patient education, coordination of tests and procedures, medication management, and communication with patients and the care team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited ASN or BSN nursing program.
  • Current Pennsylvania RN license.
  • Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
  • Experience in an ambulatory/clinic nursing setting.
  • Strong telephone triage experience, including assessment of common GI symptoms (e.g., abdominal pain, diarrhea/constipation, nausea/vomiting, rectal bleeding) and timely escalation using clinical judgment.
  • Experience with medication refills, prior authorizations, and insurance/navigation processes; familiarity with GI-related medications and care pathways.

Nice To Haves

  • Gastroenterology or procedural practice experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating testing and procedures (e.g., labs/imaging, endoscopy scheduling, bowel prep education, post-procedure follow-up) is a plus.

Responsibilities
