About The Position

The ChristianaCare GI Practice at Havertown, PA is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse to join its growing team! This role provides telephone and in-person triage support and patient education. The nurse will answer and respond to telephone messages under the direction of the provider, assist providers in examinations or procedures, and function as a liaison between patients, physicians, and staff to provide accurate communication. The position also supports the work of LPN and/or MA, assists with staff education and evaluation of clinical competencies for new and existing employees, and aids in the orientation of new personnel. Responsibilities include performing chart audits, supporting the site as a liaison for JCAHO, POCT, and Tracer monitor for Safe Practice Behavior Monitoring (SPBM) tools & JCAHO Tracers. The role involves administration of medications, monitoring of vital signs, and performing routine treatments and procedures prescribed by the physician. The nurse will keep current with policies and procedures, participate in quality improvement activities, and may participate in special projects. There is potential for as-needed coverage to support other practices at the Glen Mills, PA location.

Requirements

  • A graduate of a state approved or National League of Nursing accredited School of Nursing
  • RN license or eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania
  • BLS certification
  • Two years’ experience as a RN
  • physician office experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred; ADN considered with agreement of completion of BSN in 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Randomly shadows clinical support staff to ensure appropriate care is provided
  • Support the site by acting as the liaison for JCAHO, POCT, Tracer monitor for Safe Practice Behavior Monitoring (SPBM) tools & JCAHO Tracers
  • Administration of medications, monitoring of vital signs, and performing routine treatments and procedures prescribed by the physician when needed.
