About The Position

Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center that provides a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region. The hospital features a state-of-the-art medical campus and is home to Flight For Life Colorado. It includes four trauma rooms, one of which is a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, enabling life-saving care for severely ill and injured patients. St. Anthony Hospital received Magnet designation in 2023, an award given to only 10 percent of hospitals globally. The hospital has also received numerous awards and accreditations from organizations such as the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, The Joint Commission, Emergency Nurses Association, American College of Radiology, and others. The hospital is seeking individuals to join a fast-paced environment where they can practice at the top of their profession in trauma, cardiology, stroke, neurosciences, breast imaging, cancer/oncology care, surgery, and more. Qualified external applicants with at least six months of direct RN experience are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus (for full-time or part-time positions, some exclusions apply). Relocation assistance of up to $8,000 may be available depending on location. Requirements

  • At least six months of direct RN experience (for sign-on bonus eligibility).
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
  • Medium Work - Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred for experienced RNs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
  • Provide direct GI experience.
  • Operate within a unit with 1 GI procedure room, 2 Pre-op bays, and 2 PACU bays.
  • Manage an average of 8-12 cases per day, with potential for add-on patients in the afternoon.
  • Adhere to a typical schedule of 0700-1730, volume dependent.
  • Fulfill call requirements, including 1 weeknight (Monday-Friday) from 1700-0700 (14 hours), 2 holidays per year from 0700-0700 (24 hours), and every 4th weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from 0700-0700 (24 hours).
  • Work 40 hours/week with variable shifts/days of the week based on unit volume/need, to be determined with the Unit Manager during interviews.
  • Be available for call, including 1 night per week and one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per six-week schedule.
  • Maintain a 30-minute call back radius.
