About The Position
The Pediatric Nephrology Clinic is a specialty department located within the Helen DeVos Children’s Care Center at 35 Michigan St. NE, Suite 5201, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, which serves as our primary clinic location. Our team specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of kidney and urinary tract conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. In addition to providing care in Grand Rapids, our providers travel to Traverse City, St. Joseph, and Lansing on a monthly or quarterly basis to improve access to specialized pediatric nephrology services for families throughout Michigan. We care for patients with a wide range of kidney-related conditions, including acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), kidney stones, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and other disorders affecting the kidneys and urinary system. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care while partnering closely with patients, families, and referring providers to support optimal kidney health and long-term outcomes. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
Responsibilities
- Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse (RN) in the examination and treatment of patients to facilitate clinic flow and provide excellent patient care.
- Performs basic skills per department guidelines and policies; communicate observations to members of the health care team.
- Rooming patients, collecting vitals, and assisting in minor office procedures.
- EPIC In basket work.
- Processing FMLA and short-term Disability work.
- Answering phones.
