About The Position

This role is in the Surgical Optimization department, which prepares medium- to high-risk patients for procedures at Corewell Health West facilities. The Ambulatory Care Tech rooms patients, performs EKGs and phlebotomy, and contacts patients with lab results; training is provided. The position also supports regional locations in Greenville, Zeeland, and Grand Haven, with travel to those sites approximately one or two days per month. Mileage is reimbursed.

The selected candidate joins a team that collaborates with providers, nurse navigators, and clinical support team members. Under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse, the role contributes to quality patient care, supports clinic flow, performs basic skills according to department guidelines and policies, and communicates observations to the health care team.

The position is full-time, with 40 scheduled hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The primary location is Corewell Health Care Center, 1900 Wealthy St SE, Grand Rapids.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Room patients.
• Perform EKGs.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Contact patients with lab results; training is provided.
• Travel to regional locations in Greenville, Zeeland, and Grand Haven approximately one or two days per month.
• Support quality patient care and clinic flow under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse.
• Perform basic skills according to department guidelines and policies.
• Communicate observations to members of the health care team.
