Requirements

  • Possession of an EMT, EMD, or ETC certification or the ability to attain one.
  • Availability to work 12-hour rotating shifts 0600-1800.
  • Proficiency with computer operations, word processing, email, and spreadsheet software programs.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of direct customer service experience.
  • Previous work experience in a communications center or as an EMS dispatcher.
  • Previous work experience as an EMT, Paramedic, CNA, or LVN.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Answer, evaluate, and triage all transport requests and deploy the most appropriate resources.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to callers.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Strategically review, plan, and deploy resources.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Take direction, work independently, and as part of a group.
  • Promptly answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming requests for service while communicating effectively with callers.
  • Ensure familiarity with company service areas and medical facilities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of service area geography, roadways, and traffic patterns.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer policies and procedures as they pertain to the coordination of patient transport.
  • Professionally control difficult interactions and effectively direct the flow of the conversation.
  • Operate a multi-line phone system.
  • Document all phone and radio transactions using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) program.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or the leadership team.
