About The Position

AM Bistro Server/Barista at the Courtyard Newark – UD. This role involves preparing and serving Starbucks® coffee beverages and bistro menu items, taking guest orders, delivering food and beverages, and processing payments. The position also requires maintaining the cleanliness and stock of the Bistro area, adhering to food and beverage safety standards, communicating effectively with team members and management, completing operational checklists, and contributing to a team-oriented environment. The hotel is located on a beautiful suburban campus and is recognized as one of Delaware’s first "Green Lodging" establishments. It is conveniently situated near local businesses and attractions.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in food service or hospitality
Meet the state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude
ServSafe and/or food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Alcohol awareness training (TIPS or equivalent) preferred
Some college a plus
Knowledge of local attractions is a bonus — help guests plan their day!
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve Starbucks® coffee beverages and bistro menu items with accuracy and speed
Take guest orders, deliver food & beverages to tables, and ensure every guest feels welcomed
Collect payments and process transactions accurately
Keep the Bistro area sparkling clean and fully stocked
Follow all food & beverage safety standards (hotel, Shaner, and Marriott requirements)
Communicate effectively with the GM, department managers, and fellow team members
Complete opening/closing procedures and daily operational checklists
