About The Position

We are seeking a kind, patient, and dependable caregiver to support a client living with Alzheimer’s who wishes to remain safely at home with her spouse. This is a respite-focused position, meaning your role is to provide structure, safety, and companionship while giving her spouse a meaningful break. This client is pleasant, gentle, and does best in a calm, low-stimulation environment. She benefits from a caregiver who can offer quiet companionship, simple reassurance, and one-step guidance throughout the visit. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who understands that excellent care is not rushed. It is patient, present, and respectful.

Requirements

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Take pride in providing high quality care

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Alzheimer’s or dementia care is preferred, but a calm personality and willingness to learn are just as important.

Responsibilities

• Providing calm, step-by-step direction for daily tasks
• Staying physically present during walking and stairs due to fall risk
• Supporting medication reminders by setting them up and remaining present
• Encouraging fluids throughout the visit
• Offering gentle companionship while preserving dignity and comfort
• Taking full responsibility for care during the shift so the spouse can rest
