As an approved respite provider for children with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy, we seek to grow our Respite Care Team. Requirements
- Engaging, creative, child-focused individual willing to have fun, play, read, do arts and crafts, and similar activities in families' homes.
- Childcare or nanny experience preferred.
- Childcare references from paid or unpaid experiences.
- Part-time or Full-time schedules with availability for 4-hour shifts between 12 pm-8 pm weekdays or 8 am – 6 pm on weekends.
- Reliable and insured transportation is required to travel to various family homes.
- A cell phone with data to accept and record assignments.
- Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds safely.
- Ability to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day.
- Ability to react quickly to certain situations.
- Ability to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner.
Nice To Haves
- Special needs experience in any capacity is an absolute plus. We are looking for time spent with siblings, friends, or volunteering.
Responsibilities
- Provide weekly placements with consistent families (weekday afternoons and/or evenings).
- Provide weekly weekend placements with consistent families (typically 4-hour shifts; work up to 2 shifts per day for more hours).
- Provide occasional shifts with varied families (weekday or weekend afternoons and early evenings) by self-selecting open assignments from our My Jovie App.
- Engage in fun, creative, child-focused activities such as playing, reading, and doing arts and crafts in families' homes.
- Provide care for children with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
- Clean up activities after use.

- Competitive pay wage of $20 to $24 per hour, plus an additional $3 per hour for each additional sibling.
