About The Position

The Alumni Engagement Assistant, within the Sloan Office of External Relations, provides administrative and programmatic support to the Engagement Events and Strategic Alumni Engagement teams. This role is crucial in coordinating alumni programs, including MIT Sloan Reunion and January Executive Electives. The assistant will manage event logistics, develop registration systems, prepare communications and materials, and maintain timelines and documentation. They will act as a primary point of contact for alumni and internal partners, ensuring exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include maintaining alumni event information on the website, overseeing data needs such as event coding, reporting, and monthly metrics, and tracking/reconciling budgets. The position also involves processing financial transactions and supporting departmental scheduling and administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years of administrative and/or events support experience
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with superior customer service abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Zoom, Qualtrics, and event management platforms such as Cvent
  • Exceptional organizational and presentation skills
  • Strong written communication abilities
  • Capacity to set goals and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative self-starter with strong initiative and attention to detail
