Alterations Associate, Full Time - Roosevelt Field
About The Position
A Bloomingdale’s Alterations Associate supports daily store operations and helps deliver a convenient, enjoyable shopping experience. The role requires speed, attention to detail, collaboration, and teamwork. Duties include sewing garments; performing basic to advanced alterations, including work on sleeves, backs, sides, collars, and bodices; completing minor repairs; and replacing buttons. The associate provides customers with information about alteration services, completes quality work on time and to customer specifications, and helps reduce waste and achieve profitability.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of direct experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Responsibilities
- Present a pleasant, knowledgeable, and positive attitude to customers.
- Provide detailed information about alterations services and their value, and respond to customer inquiries.
- Deliver quality work the first time and on time, meeting customer specifications to reduce waste and achieve profitability.
