About The Position

Bloomingdale’s Alteration Support Professional supports daily store operations and helps deliver an easy, enjoyable shopping experience. The role involves sewing garments and performing basic to advanced alterations, including work on sleeves, backs, sides, collars, and bodices, as well as minor repairs and button replacement. The associate provides information about alteration services, responds to customer inquiries, and completes quality work on time and to customer specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of direct experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods; reach, crouch, kneel, stoop, use color vision, and climb ladders; frequently use computers and handheld electronic equipment; and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Perform minor repairs and replace buttons.
