About The Position

ChristianaCare is one of the Mid-Atlantic's largest academic health care providers with 3 campuses: Wilmington, Newark, and Union at Cecil County. They are a regional center of excellence for cardiology, cancer, and women's health services, and ranked by US News & World Report as a Best Hospital. This position is a full-time, day shift role, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. There may be occasional travel to various clinical sites within the state to supervise students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of four years full-time experience as an RRT required.
  • Current critical care experience required.
  • Teaching experience required.
  • Credentials in specialty and in good standing with pertinent regulatory agencies.
  • Minimum of an Associate degree is required.
  • Candidates are required to obtain their bachelor's degree within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and supervises students in the didactic, laboratory, and clinical phases of their education for an Associate degree specialty as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
  • Provides didactic instruction and evaluation for students.
  • Provides instruction in skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care needed.
  • Provides laboratory demonstration, instruction, and pre-clinical evaluation for students.
  • Provides clinical demonstration, instruction, and evaluation for students as both formative feedback and terminal competency testing.
  • Develops course outlines, objectives, and evaluation tools for designated courses consistent with accreditation requirements and college policy.
  • Provides academic counseling to students during all phases of the educational program.
  • Participates in the Advisory Board, Admission Committee, faculty meetings, and in-services as assigned.
  • Maintains student records consistent with accreditation requirements, college policy, and hospital policy.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
  • Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients, and visitors.
