About The Position

The All Purpose Clerk maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and interactive engagement, with an emphasis on providing fast, friendly customer service. Duties are performed primarily in the Grocery department and back room. The role may involve exposure to varying temperatures and work environments, and includes walking, standing, lifting, moving, carrying, and stocking products, as well as interacting with customers, associates, truck drivers, and vendors.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Able to read, write, and do simple math problems.
• Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Must join a union.
• Must pass a drug and background check.
• Must have a flexible schedule.
• Able to work well with others as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service, including greeting customers, answering questions, and handling money as a cashier.
• Rotate products, check that they are within date, and display them properly on shelves according to category as part of the night stock crew.
• Perform daytime stocking in Produce, Deli, Frozen, Meat, and Grocery.
• Unload trucks, organize the stock room, fill assigned areas on the sales floor, and operate back-room equipment such as pallet jacks and balers.
• Clean cases and shelves; mop and sweep the sales floor or stock room; clean dairy coolers, bathrooms, and the break room.
• Operate back-room equipment, including a pallet jack, baler, compactor, and scrub machine.
