About The Position

KLA’s LS-SWIFT algorithms group develops high-throughput patterned wafer inspection systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The Algorithm Engineer will design and deploy computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning solutions for AI-powered inspection systems. The role is based in California and involves work on complex image and signal processing problems, taking algorithms from research and prototyping through production deployment and customer impact. The successful candidate will join a team of PhDs, machine vision experts, and algorithm engineers. They will help advance inspection capabilities for semiconductor applications, including logic, memory, automotive, and advanced packaging, while improving algorithm accuracy, robustness, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Strong background in one or more of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or image processing.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major deep learning framework, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience training, validating, and deploying machine learning or deep learning models in production environments.
  • Programming skills in C++ and/or Python, with experience in object-oriented and/or functional programming.
  • Ability to design model architectures, customize loss functions, and optimize performance for real-world constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on ambiguous, open-ended challenges.
