DU-COMM is the largest consolidated 9-1-1 communications center within the State of Illinois, located in Wheaton at a state-of-the-art facility. Formed in 1975 as an intergovernmental agency for emergency communications, DU-COMM operates 24/7, serving 45 Police/Fire/EMS agencies throughout most of DuPage County. The center processes over 1.2 million calls and dispatches over 780,000 incidents annually. DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM) is seeking to hire and train an Alarm Board Operator for its 9-1-1 center. This is a part-time, non-union position, working 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and is eligible for IMRF pension participation. The Alarm Board Operator will monitor and process incoming burglar and fire alarms, handle phone calls from various stakeholders, and perform related clerical work. LEADS Certification must be achieved and maintained. All other duties will be assigned as per operational need.
