About The Position

The Al-Rahmah Nursery Director is a full-time 12-month exempt position. The Director is responsible for the operation and instructional leadership at Al-Rahmah Nursery. Trains and supervises staff, sets instructional objectives, and works to build a rapport with parents. Works to always improve and expand the program.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in the administration and supervision of all programs in a school
Skill in oral and written communications
Ability to motivate others to reach their fullest potential
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, parents, students, teachers, support staff and associates.
Strong background and knowledge in Childhood development and its implementation in an educational setting
Bachelor’s Degree in education administration or related field
Teaching experience in the USA
Basic knowledge of the State and Federal laws required.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Child health, development and growth
Creative experiences for young children
Child health, safety and nutrition
Administration of childcare and education
Methods in curriculum development
Strategies in early childhood guidance

Responsibilities

Oversee the operations of the Nursery, specifically focusing on educational programming, relationship building, and quality assurance
Maintain management of staff, ratios, scheduling and training
Ability to ensure school resources are planned for, identified, and allocated appropriately to meet the program requirements on time, on budget, and in a high-quality manner
Understands and assists staff members with developmentally appropriate practices
Respond promptly and appropriately to parent concerns
Ability to screen, interview and hire suitable employees
Implements and supervises staff members with company policies and procedures
Oversee and manage a successful summer camp program for ages two to five years old
Ensure compliance with licensing and competency standards mandated by the state of Maryland and Maryland EXCELS.
Meet the Maryland Child Care Center Preschool Director Requirements for a center with 60 or more students.
Perform related work as required by the BOE.
The job requires an enthusiastic, imaginative and energetic individual capable of gaining the full potential from each teacher and child.
