About The Position

The Director leads AIS ISC Digital & AI Capabilities, the AI, analytics, and data organization within the AIS Integrated Supply Chain. This leader-of-leaders role oversees approximately 18 people, including Digital Leads, Product Owners, and Data Governance specialists, supporting five supply chain processes: Market to Order, Forecast to Plan, Source to Pay, Plan to Produce, and Produce to Deliver. The Director owns the organization’s integrated digital, analytics, and AI roadmap, including governed KPI products, consistent data definitions, data governance, and trusted data foundations that enable self-service analytics and AI. A central priority is Heartbeat, a unified SQDC analytics product intended to consolidate more than 500 fragmented operational reports into a single drillable source of truth integrated with daily management systems. The role combines organizational leadership and portfolio ownership with hands-on technical credibility in SQL, BI, and analytics. The position leads the organization and its leaders; manages the portfolio and capacity trade-offs across certified analytics, data products, and AI capabilities; and advances process digital maturity. It establishes the hub’s standards for certified data products, KPI definitions, connectors, platforms, and certification, while enabling business teams to build on trusted foundations through self-service tools, training, and communities of practice. The Director also oversees data governance and KPI arbitration, connects analytics to operating processes, and partners with Global Process Owners, segment and region leaders, CDAO, Digital Core for Business, and Transformation Programs. AI capabilities—including agentic AI, digital twins, forecasting, simulation and optimization, and generative AI—are managed as part of the same governed portfolio. The role sequences AI work behind certified data, scales a hub-and-spoke model, and advances analytics capabilities while ensuring people retain ownership of decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong professional experience in analytics, data, or supply chain.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading analytics or data teams.
  • Experience leading leaders, such as managers or team leads.
  • Hands-on SQL and modern BI skills, including the ability to independently retrieve and transform data and build an analysis.
  • Ability to review and challenge query logic, semantic models, and metric calculations across multiple teams.
  • Track record of owning an enterprise analytics portfolio and roadmap end to end, in agreement with senior business stakeholders across functional boundaries.
  • Experience establishing KPI hierarchies, definitions, and ownership models across functions and arbitrating metric disputes between domains.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, including definitions, data quality management, stewardship, and metadata practices, and experience operationalizing governance through dedicated roles.
  • Experience partnering with senior operational leadership in executive operating mechanisms.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a global, matrixed organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep expertise in two or more supply chain process areas, such as logistics, manufacturing, sourcing, planning, or order execution.
  • Applied enterprise experience with AI and machine learning, including LLM/GenAI and agentic tooling, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or Azure Synapse.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Kinaxis, SAP, or Oracle Fusion.
  • Experience consolidating fragmented reporting into certified data products, including retiring legacy reports.
  • Experience operating a hub-and-spoke or federated analytics model, including building self-service data platforms, enablement programs, or communities of practice.
  • Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement background.
  • Familiarity with tiered daily management systems (DMS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop four Digital Leads and a Data Governance Lead, with accountability for organizational capability, performance, succession, and bench strength across Product Owners and Data Stewards.
  • Establish and uphold review standards for SQL, semantic models, and metric logic across the organization while remaining technically engaged.
  • Build Digital Leads’ direct relationships with process owners and executives, developing an organization that can operate without dependence on the Director.
  • Own a single roadmap across certified analytics and data products and AI capabilities, built from the five process roadmaps and aligned with segment, region, and Global Process Owner priorities.
  • Allocate capacity across pillars, arbitrate competing demands, make explicit trade-offs, and balance running certified products, improving them, and developing new capabilities.
  • Consolidate Heartbeat Bowler KPIs (L0–L4) into one certified source of truth connected to daily management systems.
  • Deliver Factory Heartbeat as a unified PSQDC analytics product with a drillable dashboard, integrated action tracking linked to problem solving, and real-time data; lead retirement of the fragmented reports it replaces.
  • Advance Digital Framework maturity across processes from Organized to Digitized to Connected, using certified foundational data products as a gate and reporting maturity accurately.
  • Own hub-level fundamentals, including certified data products, agreed KPI definitions, approved data connectors, platform standards, and certification.
  • Publish certified products as documented, discoverable, consumable components through Digital Compass and the data marketplace to enable self-service analytics and AI use cases.
  • Define boundaries between self-built experimental work and production or executive use, and provide a path for spoke-built prototypes to become hub-certified products.
  • Build data and AI fluency in the business through enablement, training, and communities of practice, measuring success through platform adoption.
  • Direct data governance through the Data Governance Lead and Data Stewards, including documentation, validation, quality monitoring, data correction, and publication of validated datasets to Digital Compass.
  • Arbitrate KPI definitions and cross-pillar decomposition, ensuring each KPI has one agreed definition and a named accountable owner.
  • Assign Data Owner responsibilities to the most knowledgeable person within the Digital Lead and Product Owner group.
  • Partner with CDAO on enterprise governance, the data platform, and the data marketplace.
  • Integrate analytics into the operating model so daily management systems use governed data and the organization certifies the numbers behind standard work and KPIs.
  • Operate a single digital intake for new process requirements raised in daily management systems, partnering with Transformation Programs on intake, scoring, stage gates, value tracking, and adoption cadence.
  • Partner with Digital Core for Business on process taxonomy (P1–P4), standard work, master data operationalization, and PLM/ERP alignment.
  • Maintain relationships with the five Global Process Owners and segment and region leadership; represent Capabilities in executive operating mechanisms, including the Monthly Operating Review.
  • Own the AI capabilities portfolio, including agentic AI, digital twins, forecasting, simulation and optimization, and generative capabilities, using the same roadmap, certification, and ownership discipline as data products.
  • Own and sequence the documented, validated, and published foundational datasets on which AI use cases are built.
  • Scale a hub-and-spoke AI factory by certifying data connectors, agent standards, and ownership while enabling spokes to build agents and use cases.
  • Advance capabilities from descriptive analytics through predictive analytics, simulation and optimization, digital twin, and generative and agentic capabilities.
  • Embed AI-enabled ways of working in the Director’s organization and scale effective practices to the spokes.
