As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and situations, communicate professionally with travelers and staff, and provide exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport partners by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, public spaces, perimeter locations, parking facilities, roadways, and other assigned areas; report unusual conditions and potential hazards.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry where required, and help to deter unauthorized access or prohibited activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate airport personnel and emergency responders.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly in accordance with site procedures.
