About The Position
Unifi is hiring an Airport Ramp employee to support airline ground services and help ensure aircraft and passengers reach their destinations safely. No prior experience is required, and paid training is provided. The role involves marshalling aircraft, handling baggage and cargo, operating ramp equipment, and potentially performing cabin service duties. Employees must follow company safety and operational standards and report safety or security incidents and potential hazards. The position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is listed as full-time, with A.M. and P.M. shifts.
Requirements
- No experience is required; paid training is provided.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to obtain credentials required by airport, state, or customs requirements.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to frequently lift more than 70 pounds and constantly lift up to 70 pounds; constantly push and pull up to 70 pounds; and constantly walk, stand, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, stoop, squat, kneel, and bend.
- Able and willing to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Able and willing to work outdoors in weather conditions that may include severe seasonal elements.
Responsibilities
- Marshal arriving, departing, and towed aircraft on the ramp.
- Perform wing walker duties to protect aircraft wings from equipment during pushback and de-ice aircraft as required.
- Load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight, and company material to and from aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts.
- Operate ramp equipment, including bag tugs, belt loaders, aircraft tow tractors, water servicing vehicles, and lavatory servicing vehicles.
- Perform assigned cabin service duties, which may include servicing aircraft, cleaning lavatories and cabins, and restocking supplies.
- Adhere to safety procedures and policies and complete work safely in accordance with company safety and operational standards.
- Immediately report safety and security incidents and potential hazards in accordance with the Unifi Fair and Just Culture Policy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the skills, experience, and capabilities expected for the position.
