About The Position

This application is for a Civil Service Examination for the opportunity to be placed on an Eligible List for a future opening. The examination is designed to test the objectives of the duties and minimum qualifications of the classification. The role involves supervising maintenance and repair work on airport equipment, facilities, and buildings, including HVAC systems and sanitary pump stations. It also requires interpreting blueprints, using shop floor equipment, and working with various hand and power tools.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid State of Ohio Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License required.
• Must successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 10-year fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check, employment background check, and Security Threat Assessment.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to work any shift assignment and work overtime during the snow season.

Nice To Haves

• One year of supervisory experience, as well as experience with a work-order management system (WEBTMA), is preferred.
• Two years of commercial maintenance experience as well as two years of commercial HVAC mechanical maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance and repair work on airport equipment, facilities, and buildings.
• Assists with the assignment of work and supervises maintenance staff performing related maintenance functions.
• Oversees work involving HVAC systems, including hot water boiler operations, air handlers, rooftop AC and HVAC units, and sanitary pump station systems.
• Interprets mechanical blueprints and plumbing isometric drawings to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Supervises and performs work utilizing shop floor equipment such as metal brake, band saw, metal shear, and similar equipment.
• Works with all hand and power tools commonly used in the maintenance field.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
