About The Position

Sawtooth Software is looking for a part-time Building Care Leader to work on location at their building in Provo, Utah. This job will take 12-15 hours per week, with some flexibility in work hours. The Building Care Leader is responsible for the overall safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and operational functionality of a commercial office property consisting of a 28,000 square foot building on a 1-acre lot. This position oversees facility operations including janitorial services, preventive maintenance, repairs, landscaping, snow removal, and contractor coordination. The Building Care Leader proactively maintains the property to ensure a safe, professional, and enjoyable environment for tenants and visitors while ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
  • Knowledge of safety practices, OSHA guidelines, and facility compliance standards preferred
  • Experience maintaining commercial office properties preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of building maintenance systems and preventive maintenance practices
  • Familiarity with custodial procedures and safety standards
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and service requests
  • Professionalism when interacting with tenants, vendors, and contractors
  • Attention to detail and commitment to property appearance and safety
  • Basic computer and record keeping skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of the building, grounds, parking areas, and common spaces
  • Perform routine inspections of building systems and property conditions to identify maintenance needs
  • Complete service requests independently and in a timely manner
  • Conduct drywall repair, painting, and minor carpentry work
  • Replace light bulbs and perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Troubleshoot and complete minor repairs on appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, sprinkler systems, and other building equipment
  • Perform landscape maintenance and snow removal to maintain safe exterior conditions
  • Monitor and maintain critical building systems including fire suppression systems, alarms, elevators, generators, and parking structures
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for repairs or projects beyond internal capabilities
  • Obtain vendor bids, schedule work, and ensure quality completion of contracted services
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and supply inventories
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and applicable regulations
  • Respond promptly to tenant concerns and maintain positive tenant relationships
  • Assist with budgeting recommendations for facility repairs and improvements
  • As needed, assist with custodial duties in common areas including restroom and kitchen cleaning, trash removal, vacuuming, cleaning glass and fixtures, and other duties as needed
  • Support additional building care and operational projects as assigned
