About The Position

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time electrical engineering intern to work on airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.) based in our Elizabeth, NJ office starting in Spring/Summer 2027 and ending in Fall 2027.

Requirements

Completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in electrical or civil engineering from an accredited college or university by their start date.
A valid driver’s license
Strong communication and organizational skills
Self-motivated
Can work well both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software
Understanding of basic electrical engineering design concepts
Electrical or civil engineering coursework

Responsibilities

Assisting engineers, design technicians, and construction managers with electrical airfield engineering projects
Preparing electrical engineering documents
Assisting with the analysis, preparation or modification of reports, plans, schedules, studies, and designs for projects
Performing electrical design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates
Assisting with the preparation of design and construction budgets
Designing airport electrical systems such as lighting for runways, taxiways, and aprons
Technical research and writing
May assist with field inspection, documentation, and survey work
Other duties as assigned.
