Airport Baggage Handler - BOS
About The Position
Unifi is seeking an Airport Baggage Handler to handle incoming and outgoing passengers’ baggage and promptly address related concerns. No experience is required, and paid training is provided. The role involves baggage handling, sorting, scanning, tagging, loading, and coordination with TSA, while following company safety and operational standards. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Employees must be able to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, and work outdoors in weather that may include severe seasonal conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain credentials required by airport, state, or customs requirements.
- Must be able to constantly lift and carry up to and more than 70 pounds.
- Must be able to push, pull, walk, stand, reach above shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and bend; must be able to climb or crawl frequently.
- Must be able and open to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Must be able and open to work in outdoor weather conditions, including potentially severe seasonal elements.
Responsibilities
- Assist passengers with baggage pick-up, loading, and unloading, and resolve concerns involving delayed, lost, or damaged items.
- Set up conveyances to sort and distribute incoming bags.
- Scan bags and ensure they are correctly tagged and loaded.
- Forward bags to and receive bags from TSA.
- Take care of the safety scanner and other equipment.
- Adhere to safety procedures and policies.
- Complete work safely and securely in accordance with company safety and operational standards.
- Immediately report safety and security incidents and potential hazards in line with the Unifi Fair and Just Culture Policy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the skill, experience, and capability expectations for the position.
