About The Position

This role involves operating ground support and firefighting equipment, preparing aircraft for washing, and performing the washing and cleaning of aircraft surfaces, windshields, and canopies. The position also includes pre/post wash lubrication, documenting work, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and Tool Control programs. Safety regulations must be followed, and there may be a requirement to assist the line move crew. The role may also involve performing Lead duties at management's discretion and other related tasks. Additionally, the position is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, inventory, and preservation of government and company-owned equipment.

Requirements

  • Aircraft Towing Certification
  • GSE Licensing
  • Airfield Operators License
  • Valid State Driver License
  • Physical as required by NAVAIR 3710.1 Series
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to generate, compile, analyze and evaluate facts and data using statistical and research methodologies
  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must meet any other qualification standards imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • Three (3) months aviation maintenance and/or flight line experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ground support equipment.
  • Operate portable firefighting equipment.
  • Monitor and assist the line move crew when operating inside the hangar.
  • Prepare aircraft for washing by ensuring vent areas are taped and all protective covers are in place.
  • Wash and rinse external and internal surface of aircraft and aircraft components to remove grease, dirt, oil, fungus and stains.
  • Polish and clean windshields and canopies with water, polishing and cleaning compounds and cloth.
  • Perform pre/post wash lubrication and procedures.
  • Document work accomplished on government and company electronic and/or manual Information Systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to the Tool Control Program.
  • Comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • Perform other related duties within the job classification.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety, security, inventory and preservation of Government owned and Company owned equipment.
