Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical support structures and fracture-critical areas. Locate blind holes for installation of new structural items on existing structures. Conduct sealing, painting, shimming, and preservation of structures per standard repair processes. Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements for structural modification/repair. Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts. Apply knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair and replacement. Perform aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, assess functionality of non-complex electrical systems. Utilize aircraft-specific tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and shears, and test equipment. Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests. Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits. Ascend/descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads up to ~35 pounds. Ensure safe working environment using Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems. Assist team members (General Mechanics, Avionics, Electronics) to meet cost/schedule targets. Pass assessment at the end of the training cycle. Comply with SA Site Tool and FOD procedures.
