About The Position

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. The mechanic will diagnose equipment malfunctions using airframe and power plant systems and restore them to operational condition. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical documentation, performing close-tolerance drilling and installation on critical support structures, and assisting team members to meet cost and schedule targets. Safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems, must be followed. The role requires the ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, and to maintain required certifications and licenses. Compliance with export control requirements is essential, necessitating U.S. Person status.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED with 3+ years' related experience, or equivalent vocational/associate-level training.
4+ years of experience performing aircraft maintenance and structural repair duties.
Ability to work variable shifts, including scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Frequent walking, standing, balancing, climbing ladders (3–12 ft), and reaching overhead.
Occasional finger manipulation, crawling, squatting, bending, and lying down.
Exposure to noise, metals, plastics, solvents, and elevated platforms.
Ability to perform tasks safely with protective gear and pass visual acuity/color perception tests.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

Experience with C-17, E4B, B52, or F18 aircraft.
Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance.
Ability to operate a forklift and riding-type electric powered elevating equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
Diagnose equipment malfunctions using airframe and power plant systems and restore operational condition.
Read and interpret technical documentation, blueprints, manufacturer manuals, engineering drawings, technical orders, and retrofit requirements.
Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation on critical support structures and fracture-critical areas.
Locate blind holes and install new structural items to existing structures.
Perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving of structures per standard repair processes.
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts.
Assist team members (General Mechanics, Avionics, Electrics) to meet cost and schedule targets.
Follow safety procedures including Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems.
Ascend/descend vertical ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 35–50 lbs, and operate personal protective equipment.
Maintain certifications, licenses, and training required for assignment responsibilities.
Ensure compliance with export control requirements (must be a U.S. Person per 22 C.F.R. §120.15).
Participate in assessments at the end of training cycles.
