About The Position

The Senior Egress Specialist performs aircraft egress system repair/maintenance tasks on cockpit egress components. This includes inspecting, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting Aircraft Egress, Canopy Fracturing Systems, and Emergency Oxygen system components. The role also involves performing canopy rigging/fitting of aircraft canopy drive and locking systems. The specialist may operate ground support equipment and is required to enter data into computerized maintenance record systems. They are responsible to the Egress Shop Leadman and assist in egress team concept maintenance, maintaining aircraft egress systems with ejection seats, canopies, and hatches, explosive components, electro-explosive devices (EED), subsystems, and related support equipment (SE). Duties encompass inspection, repair, maintenance, and modification of egress systems, removal and replacement of time change components, and removal, rigging, and replacement of seats and canopies. The position requires constant awareness of egress system safety, accomplishment of necessary form maintenance, and performance of other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Driver's License with Real ID within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain site access.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain site access.
  • Experience in functions such as removing, inspecting, installing, repairing, and modifying aircrew egress systems and components.
  • Experience performing or supervising functions involved in maintaining and inspecting egress systems and subsystems.
  • Must have successfully completed the Air Force “Aircrew Egress Systems Apprentice Course” or intra-service equivalent (DD 214 or employment record).
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements for this position as stipulated in Appendix E of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
