This position is for an Aircraft Mechanic Egress (AME) responsible for maintaining assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, manufacturer, and company instructions. The role primarily focuses on all egress system on and off equipment maintenance for squadron aircraft, including the removal, transport, inspection, repair, and reinstallation of ejection seats, as well as the inspection, repair, and cleaning of seat harnesses. The mechanic will also inventory, store, remove, and replace seat CAD/PAD explosive items. Additionally, the role involves maintaining environmental systems, inspecting canopy explosive devices, and maintaining On Board Oxygen Generating Systems (OBOGS) on assigned aircraft. The AME performs both scheduled and unscheduled on and off equipment maintenance, conducts aircraft corrosion control procedures (wash, wipe down, polish, vacuum), and operates various ground support equipment and flight line vehicles. The position also includes supervising/assisting in aircraft/equipment movement, participating in flight line foreign object prevention walks, and adhering to good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety practices. Compliance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series for aircraft maintenance and ALSS is required, along with a working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP, and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenance applications. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.
