If you want to fulfill your career goals while making an impact in aviation, we have a place for you. We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Houston, Texas. This position provides quality, regulatory, and safety oversight for aircraft maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company procedures. The Quality Assurance Technician inspects aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and components to determine airworthiness and supports continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality and operational performance. This position requires travel to customer locations throughout the United States to support aircraft maintenance projects, perform inspections, conduct audits, and provide quality oversight as business needs require.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of aircraft maintenance experience as an FAA-certificated A&P Mechanic.
  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or Quality Assurance Technician in a Part 145 Repair Station or commercial aviation environment.
  • Experience with aerospace quality systems that meet FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using and interpreting precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and FAA regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% (or as business needs require) throughout the United States.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain airport security badges and customer-required access credentials.
  • Ability to travel by commercial airline, including overnight and extended assignments.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic maintenance record systems.
  • Ability to work in aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities, and office environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders, maintenance stands, and aircraft platforms.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work around aircraft, machinery, chemicals, and varying environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out aircraft inspections while verifying and controlling required documentation in accordance with inspection processes.
  • Monitor and verify quality throughout aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures and FAA regulations.
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed on completed work in compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and FAA requirements.
  • Review and maintain work orders, inspection forms, and quality records to ensure complete traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, continuity, return-to-service, and final inspections on aircraft and aircraft components.
  • Perform surveillance inspections of aircraft and maintenance activities to monitor workmanship, tooling, processes, and compliance.
  • Conduct routine and random work package audits to ensure documentation complies with Federal Aviation Regulations and customer requirements.
  • Perform internal quality system audits and customer-requested audits.
  • Assist the Chief Inspector in analyzing quality trends and developing methods, procedures, and systems to improve Quality Assurance processes.
  • Investigate quality discrepancies and support corrective and preventive action initiatives.
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering, planning, and customer representatives to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
  • Travel to customer maintenance facilities and project sites throughout the United States to perform inspections, audits, aircraft acceptance activities, and quality oversight.
  • Represent Aviation Service Partners professionally while working with customers, FAA representatives, and maintenance organizations.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as directed.
