About The Position

The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the Customs and Border Protection Quality Control Program. This role involves monitoring the performance of required aircraft airworthiness inspections, preparing necessary forms and certifications for both military and general aviation aircraft, and reviewing airframe and engine logbooks. The inspector ensures that all assigned aircraft meet appropriate airworthiness standards and monitors all required forms and reports regarding aircraft, parts inventory, parts usage, and associated ground support equipment. This includes checking Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) in accordance with appropriate operation manuals per scheduled inspections. The position may also involve performing duties of a working Leadman as assigned, reporting to the Site Manager in that capacity, and potentially performing other duties to support the overall mission. Periodic travel may be required to support customer missions.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • High school graduate or have an equivalency certificate from an accredited program.
  • Must possess a valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Must possess a valid Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Must have at least five (5) years’ experience working full-time as an aircraft and power plant mechanic.
  • Must have working knowledge of both military and general aviation aircraft.
  • Must be well versed in the maintenance of all aircraft systems and all aircraft logbooks.
  • Must have demonstrated reliability, imitative and a good technical ability in past employment.
  • Must be proficient in Office software applications to communicate through e-mail and various software applications, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language and follow both verbal and written instruction.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • The ability to read and write and comprehend/interpret data.
