About The Position

You will be the U-2 Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the Depot Level Maintenance Team, responsible for delivering precise Aircraft Maintenance Airframe and power plant experience (Crew Chief) for U-2 Aircraft stationed at Beale AFB, California. This role involves heavy depot-level maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and major subassemblies. Responsibilities include removing, replacing, and installing aircraft components, parts, surfaces, and other subsystems. You will also inspect, overhaul, and service aircraft and associated components. The position requires a willingness to be trained on or have the ability to operate and repair electrical and structural components. The candidate must be able to complete jobs in maintenance data collection systems and adhere to all technical orders, fault isolation manuals, ground operating procedures, and local operational instructions. Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • Selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
  • Candidate must have strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Minimum of 3 years of U-2 crew Chief/Aircraft Mechanic or 8 years of fighter (F-15, F-16, A-10, etc) or C-130/large aircraft Crew Chief experience
  • Must have a craftsman level (7-Level USAF) in a like position, system or equivalent i.e.… Navy, Army or A&P experience
  • 5 or more years U-2 Aircraft Maintenance Experience To include Phase or Depot PDM and or MOD team flightline

Nice To Haves

  • U-2 Aircraft experience highly desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
  • Ability to identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown or engineering documentation, technical orders and blue prints
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Knowledge and ability to perform multiple skill requirements
  • Willing to be trained and/or certified in special skills

Responsibilities

  • Heavy Depot Level Maintenance, Repair and modification of the aircraft structure and major subassembly's.
  • Remove replace and install of aircraft components parts surfaces and other sub systems.
  • Inspect overhaul and service aircraft and associated components.
  • Willingness to be trained to/or have the ability to operate and repair electrical and structural components.
  • Complete jobs in maintenance data collection systems.
  • Adhere to all technical orders, fault isolation manuals, ground operating procedures and local operational instructions.
