About The Position

Supports OID-level maintenance, modification, inspection and repair of active systems in the US Government inventory, on KC-135 aircraft, all systems and subsystems on and off aircraft in accordance with the Air Force technical directives, applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements. Senior-level aircraft mechanic supporting KC-135 aircraft performing maintenance operations at Fairchild AFB, WA and various TDY locations.

Requirements

  • Aircraft Mechanic III shall have a minimum of 5 years of experience on an Air Force Wide- body platform (preferably KC135) or equivalent and experience leading a team and scheduling work/tasks.
  • Must be able to work, day, swing or mid shift as required
  • SECRET clearance and CAC required
  • Must be able to travel worldwide to support Temporary Duty (TDY) requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Performs Lead duties
  • OID-level maintenance, modification, inspection and repair
  • Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  • Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
  • Document maintenance actions per AFI requirements
