About The Position

This position is contingent on contract award. General Description: Aircraft mechanical personnel support KC-135 aircraft maintenance operations. This position is based at Fairchild AFB, WA and requires CONUS/OCONUS travel to support maintenance operations throughout the United States and overseas. Ideal candidates are experienced KC-135 Crew Chiefs with a strong background in flight line maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and ensuring aircraft mission readiness.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
4 - 6 years on-the-job experience performing Organizational, Intermediate, or Depot-Level aircraft maintenance on wide-body aircraft, preferably KC-135.
Must possess the ability and equivalent experience to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS travel.
Experience operating ground support equipment.
Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment.
Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance
Must be able to work, day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.

Nice To Haves

Formal aviation avionics training from a technical trade or military technical school is preferred.
A Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License or an Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is desired but not required.
Knowledge of using specialized equipment, tools, and test equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot-Level maintenance on KC-135 aircraft.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs.
Troubleshoot aircraft systems and identify corrective actions.
Remove, replace, repair, and modify aircraft components and assemblies.
Read and interpret Technical Orders, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
Perform operational and functional checks.
Support aircraft launches, recoveries, and maintenance inspections.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Travel as required to support mission requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Technical Orders, and structural repair manuals.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Other duties as assigned
