About The Position

ALS is looking for a Learjet/Corp Turbine A&P Mechanic to join our team! This role involves applying professional technical expertise to solve complex aircraft mechanical problems, interpreting technical data, and performing troubleshooting, repair, and modification of aircraft structures, components, and engines. The position requires a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems, as well as proficiency with specialized aircraft tools. The mechanic will provide technical support to engineers and customers, manage workload to meet delivery schedules, maintain aircraft logs and records, and guide lower-level technicians. This role also involves deploying with aircraft to overseas locations, complying with company procedures, FAA regulations, and Air Force requirements, and maintaining a clean and organized workplace. The mechanic will perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Air Force C-21 aircraft (Learjet 35) and may be involved in aircraft recovery missions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License for a minimum of two years.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English as well as read and interpret instructions from technical manuals, blueprints and internal Company documents.
  • Physical capability to work in tight spaces at heights and on wings, use ladders, operate tugs and aircraft support equipment and lift up to 75lbs.
  • Work with little or no supervision and accomplish assignments in a timely, quality manner.
  • Must have the ability to deploy to overseas locations on short notice.
  • Perform all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance for the fleet of assigned Air Force aircraft.
  • Comply with Air Force aircraft records procedures.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Experience with aircraft avionics maintenance and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on C-21 and/or Learjet 35.
  • Turbofan experience.
  • Military aviation maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals.
  • Performs troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
  • Performs aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair.
  • Determines functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
  • Provides technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
  • Makes entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians.
  • Deploys with aircraft/unit to overseas locations.
  • Complies with written Company maintenance and logistics procedures.
  • Complies with FAA regulations, as applicable.
  • Complies with Air Force aircraft records procedures and ensures aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workplace.
  • Performs aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Performs all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance on the Air Force C-21 aircraft (commercial variant is a Learjet 35).
  • Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, avionics/electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
