About The Position

Oversees and performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. May be required to perform any AM1 task. Oversees removal and installation aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Oversees and services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. Oversees preparation of aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. Oversees and performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. Oversees and performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. Oversees and use of and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Oversees preparation of forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Oversees, removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. Oversees maintaining the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. Performs additional duties, including maintenance duties, as requested. Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three years aviation maintenance experience.
  • Three years rotary wing aircraft experience.
  • Two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
  • All experience must be within the six most recent years.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must provide own tools/toolbox.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
  • Advanced knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
  • Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic.
  • Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired
  • certification of education level is required.
  • Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional )
