The UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 (UH-60 Technical Inspector) is responsible for inspecting the repair and modification of aircraft structures, structural components, and engines, often involving complex to extreme difficulty. This role includes planning, conducting, and supervising aircraft technical inspections, as well as evaluating repairs and modifications to various aircraft systems such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems. The inspector applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment. They may participate in maintenance test flights and operational checks, ensuring compliance with aircraft configuration control, oil analysis programs, and diagnostic equipment calibration. A key aspect of the position is providing guidance to lower-level technicians on repair and inspection techniques, contributing to quality control and ground safety programs, and verifying proper documentation of safety and flight discrepancies. The individual must demonstrate leadership by independently managing small groups and providing updates to program leadership.
