This position involves inspecting hydraulic systems, performing structural repairs, modifications, and component replacements on aircraft airframes. The role requires troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing aircraft systems to ensure airworthiness, utilizing manufacturer's manuals and service bulletins. Responsibilities include fabricating parts, performing metalworking tasks, and developing repair procedures. The mechanic will also be involved in aircraft optical alignment, weight and balance calculations, and assisting with engine removal and replacement. The job requires the ability to work various shifts, travel as part of a maintenance team, and possess strong technical writing skills. Additionally, the role involves performing inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections, and potentially becoming a Plane Captain or CDI/CDQAR certified. The position also includes providing technical assistance, maintaining records, practicing good housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention, and complying with safety and hazardous waste programs. Operation of support equipment and flight line vehicles is also part of the duties.
