The A&P Mechanic is responsible for the scheduled/unscheduled aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems; turbine engine, propeller, airframe, flight control/landing gear/engine rigging, troubleshooting systems, daily/turnaround inspections, perform corrosion inspections and related treatment, washing/cleaning, servicing aircraft fuel/ oil/ hydraulic/ oxygen/ nitrogen systems, structural repairs and component in-house repair/back shop programs. The role also involves maintaining Air Tractor 802U aircraft in support of aircrew missions, launching and recovering aircraft, adjusting/aligning/calibrating aircraft components, performing functional checks of various aircraft systems, and conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections in accordance with OEM procedures. The mechanic will use technical data/manuals for maintenance and troubleshooting, perform in-progress and follow-up inspections, research, order, and receive aircraft parts, prepare parts for turn-in, and initiate material deficiency reports. Additionally, the position requires maintaining tools, adhering to tool accountability procedures, annotating inspection documents, performing serviceability checks on support equipment, and complying with established policies and procedures. Training newly assigned personnel, operating authorized vehicles, practicing good housekeeping, tool control, FOD prevention, and safety are also key aspects. The role includes assisting with parts research and requisitioning, monitoring inventory, participating in flight line FOD prevention walks, completing maintenance documentation, servicing aircraft with various fluids and gases, performing corrosion control, and discussing discrepancies with aircrews. Strict compliance with COMSEC policies, knowledge of aircraft safety directives, English proficiency, understanding of flight line operations, ability to interpret technical publications and schematic diagrams, and proficiency in maintenance database technology are required. Willingness to work shifts, travel for maintenance recovery, and deploy CONUS and OCONUS, potentially working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, is also necessary.
