About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is seeking an Aircraft Composite Tech to perform one or more composite part manufacturing functions, including lay-up, cutting, bagging, autoclave, trimming, and/or repair, in a production environment. This is a full-time, contract position with a duration of 12 months and the opportunity for extension. The role involves manufacturing composite aircraft parts to meet specifications in a team-oriented environment, reading blueprints and work orders, and maintaining a neat and orderly workspace while supporting company programs and safety regulations. Different levels (I, II, III, IV/Sr) have increasing responsibilities, including specialized technical assistance, problem-solving, leadership, and the ability to perform close tolerance work and troubleshoot manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • One (1) to five (5) years of related experience in composite manufacturing processes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret a 6" scale.
  • Skilled in the use of special tools and equipment, including precision measuring devices such as a 6" scale, 1" micrometer, and 6" dial caliper (Level II+).
  • Ability to use mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems using fractions and decimals (Level III+).
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Q-stamp required (Level IV).
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing procedures and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality requirements (Level IV).

  • Must possess leadership skills and the ability to communicate and impart knowledge to others (Level IV).

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations.
  • Check all work and ensure a defect-free assembly prior to inspection.
  • Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI).
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Support Lean activities.
  • Provide specialized technical assistance and interact with team members to resolve manufacturing issues (Level III+).
  • Organize and perform new job tasks with a working knowledge of other parts and part numbers (Level IV).
  • Establish priorities and assist in the development of work schedules (Level IV).
  • Direct and monitor the work of team members (Level IV).
  • Perform close tolerance work (Level IV).
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes (Level IV).
  • Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects (Level IV).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
