About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Composite Tech to perform one or more composite part manufacturing functions including lay-up, cutting, bagging, autoclave, trimming, and/or repair in a production environment. This is a full-time contract position with a duration of 12 months, offering the potential for extension and direct hire after ninety days.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • One (1) year related composite experience to five (5) years of related experience in composite manufacturing processes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Read and interpret 6" scale.
  • Skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6" scale, 1" micrometer, 6" dial caliper.
  • Must be able to use mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems using fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to use basic mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems.
  • Good working knowledge of computers and related software.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing procedures and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.
  • Q-stamp required.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
  • Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection.
  • Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI).
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Support Lean activities.
  • Provide specialized technical assistance and interact with team members to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Function as a team member and assist in providing technical direction to other team members.
  • Organize and perform new job tasks with a working knowledge of other parts and part numbers.
  • Establish priorities and assist in the development of work schedules.
  • Direct and monitor the work of team members.
  • Perform the job functions of a team leader in their absence.
  • Perform close tolerance work.
  • Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes.
