About The Position

This position is for an Aircraft Avionics Technician on the F5 Adversary Program in New Orleans, LA. The role involves performing complex avionics and electrical system maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and rewiring. It requires a high degree of expertise in aircraft electrical/avionics systems, knowledge of maintenance manuals, special tools, and test equipment. The technician will also coordinate with various stakeholders to resolve technical issues, assist with inspections, and potentially engine removal/replacement. The job requires flexibility in working hours, including day shift, night shift, weekend duty, and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team or detachment. Strong technical writing skills, knowledge of supply procedures, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations are essential.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience within the last eight years in their specific aircraft maintenance occupational field.
  • The last two years must have been in the military; civil service (WG-7-10), or with a government aviation maintenance Contractor.
  • Successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company, State/Local Govt, DOD, regulation/Instruction.
  • Experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
  • Qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned ('O' or 'I' level).
  • Capable of cross-training into or assisting other specialties.
  • Must be capable of becoming Plane Captain certified when directed by management IAW a Government approved certification program for each TMS of aircraft.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Completed high school or equivalent.
  • Experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, special tools, and test equipment.
  • Understand operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment.
  • Coordinate with customers, OEMs, management, and work centers to resolve technical discrepancies.
  • Assist in P&E report preparation.
  • Become aircraft turn-up certified as directed by management.
  • Assist in the removal and replacement of aircraft engines.
  • Work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty and travel as required.
  • Write with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections.
  • Become Plane Captain certified when directed by management.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction.
  • Maintain and complete required records and applicable maintenance forms.
  • Become CDI/CDQAR certified as directed by management.
  • Perform daily duties associated with the avionics specialty.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety.
  • Assist in aircraft/equipment movement and flight line foreign object prevention walks.
  • Comply with the Hazardous Waste Program.
  • Operate SE, flight line vehicles, and other support equipment.
  • Perform corrosion detection, treatment, prevention, and documentation.
  • Annotate maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Understand basic supply procedures and assist with ordering parts, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • Participate in daily hanger cleanups.
