This role involves performing detailed inspections and repairs on aircraft airframes and hydraulic systems to ensure airworthiness. The mechanic will troubleshoot, service, and repair aircraft components, determine repair methods using manufacturer manuals, and fabricate parts. Responsibilities include setting up and operating shop equipment, developing repair procedures, assisting with reports, performing optical alignment checks, and assisting with aircraft weighing and balance. The position requires using schematics and publications for troubleshooting and repair, performing flight control and landing gear rigging, and potentially becoming aircraft turn-up certified. Major structural repairs, engine removal/installation assistance, and inventory/acceptance inspections are also part of the duties. The role may require working various shifts, including nights and weekends, and traveling as part of a maintenance team. The mechanic will also provide technical assistance, maintain records, and potentially become CDI/CDQAR certified. Good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness, safety compliance, and hazardous waste program adherence are essential. Operation of support equipment, corrosion detection and treatment, and annotating maintenance actions in specific systems are also required. Basic supply procedures knowledge is needed for ordering parts and materials. Compliance with safety rules and regulations is mandatory, along with maintaining a clean work area and participating in cleanups. Knowledge of corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment is necessary, and the mechanic may perform Leadman duties. A customer-oriented approach is required.
