About The Position

The UAS Data Analyst supports drone-based asset inspection programs by managing, validating, organizing, analyzing, and reporting data collected through unmanned aircraft systems. The role translates visual, thermal, telemetry, geospatial, and asset-related data into actionable information for operations, engineering, vegetation management, and other internal stakeholders. Working across UAS operations, GIS, AI-assisted defect detection, enterprise asset management, and work management platforms, the analyst improves data quality, workflow efficiency, inspection usability, and decision support.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, GIS, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of experience in data analysis, data operations, business analytics, GIS, utility operations, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and operate UAS on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate AI-generated inspection findings from drone-captured visual and thermal imagery and video.
  • Assess inspection photos and related datasets for potential asset defects, vegetation encroachment, equipment issues, and other operational concerns.
  • Manage and organize high volumes of UAS inspection data, including imagery, video, telemetry, thermal data, geospatial information, and associated asset records.
  • Develop and maintain repeatable processes for data intake, triage, validation, categorization, storage, retention, and access by internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze inspection results and operational trends; translate findings into clear dashboards, scorecards, visualizations, reports, and decision-ready insights.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business intelligence tools.
  • Support integration and reconciliation of inspection data with enterprise systems and asset records.
  • Coordinate incoming data and work requests from internal stakeholders; support work planning and the conversion of validated findings into actionable workflows.
  • Collaborate with UAS Operations, Field Operations, Engineering, Vegetation Management, GIS, Technology, Accounting, and Regulatory teams to improve data usability and meet business needs.
  • Support ongoing enhancements to AI-enabled inspection processes, quality controls, data management workflows, and reporting practices.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze data for project and portfolio tracking, benchmarking, ad hoc analysis, planning, and performance reporting.
  • Develop relevant performance measures and communicate results to stakeholders; pursue opportunities to improve the timeliness, accuracy, and relevance of reporting.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for the systems and data workflows used to plan, execute, and report UAS inspection activities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and operate UAS on an as-needed basis.
  • All other duties assigned by leadership.
