Data Ops - Data Builder

Cigna Healthcare•Connecticut Work at Home, CT
•$102,400 - $170,600

About The Position

The Data Builder is a hands-on individual contributor who turns architectural designs and business requirements into trusted, reusable, production-grade data products through MVP. The role builds physical Silver structures to the enterprise-agnostic model and reference patterns created by Data Architecture, and co-designs and builds Gold data products containing business logic, metrics, and functional knowledge. It works closely with Data Architecture, Data Analysis, Products & Integration, Platform Engineering/IT, DevOps & AI Enablement, data science, business analytics, and service partners. The position reports to the Senior Director, Data Operations & Data Management and contributes to a global delivery model, including setting and maintaining Data Operations build standards across the Hyderabad team and external service partners. The role emphasizes production readiness from the outset, reusable development patterns, governed CI/CD promotion, quality and security checks, cost optimization, automated data-quality testing, and responsible use of AI and automation. Data Operations may own particular Gold assets and may support other teams building theirs; the Gold layer is democratized rather than owned by this role. The position is not a pure data engineering or platform role, does not own the enterprise Silver model, and is not primarily responsible for business requirements, governance policy, stewardship, or BI reporting. The anticipated annual salary is $102,400–$170,600, depending on relevant factors such as experience and geographic location. The role is also anticipated to be eligible for an annual bonus plan. If working from home occasionally or permanently, the employee must have cable broadband or fiber-optic internet with speeds of at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
