About The Position

The Warehouse Agent moves and physically handles air cargo and company materials, including loading and unloading cargo, receiving and delivering freight, and handling export cargo at designated docks. The role includes completing forms and messages necessary to perform assigned functions. The agent may also clean work areas, ramps, and facilities, with or without powered equipment, and may help monitor facility security. The position requires following WFS site security procedures, remaining attentive to the activities of staff, security contractors, and visitors, and reporting security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends (such as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
Ability to work in all types of weather and environmental conditions, including jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise.
Ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow.

Responsibilities

Move air cargo within the designated warehouse.
Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers.
Build up cargo for outbound flights.
Break down cargo from import flights.
Facilitate loading and unloading cargo to and from semitrucks.
May operate basic cargo-handling equipment such as forklifts, aircraft pallets, and pallet jacks.
Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions, and documents when accepting or delivering cargo, as appropriate.
Confirm Dangerous Goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specific procedures for Dangerous Goods shipments when received, including shipments abandoned by the consignee.
Complete forms and messages related to assigned functions.
May perform routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities.
May assist in monitoring facility security; follow site security procedures and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan.
Understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with or without assistance of sight or visual aids.
