About The Position

Community Connections Inc. is hiring an Aide for its Day Center team in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Aide supports individuals with disabilities in developing skills and promoting functional independence, while helping provide enriching services and supporting each individual’s health, safety, dignity, rights, and well-being. The position is 30 hours per week. The posting describes evenings and weekends as time off.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and assist individuals in and out of wheelchairs or up from and down to mats.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Bilingual ability, preferably Portuguese.
• Commitment to compassion, caring for others, and serving the community.
• Advocacy for individuals with disabilities and ability to work as a team player.
• Interest in growing a career in human services.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in developing and refining skills and promoting functional independence during breaks, mealtimes, and other routines.
• Help implement DHSP goals in group settings or one-to-one situations.
• Provide physical assistance to individuals as necessary.
• Document individuals’ progress toward DHSP goals.
• Ensure individuals’ health, safety, and general well-being.
• Safeguard the human dignity, rights, and liberties of the individuals served.
